"THEY WILL CONTINUE TO COMMEMORATE YOU WITH RESPECT NOT JUST ONLY ON APRIL 23, BUT EVERYDAY"

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk visited Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Mausoleum on the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

Ministry of National Education bureaucrats and representatives of teachers led by Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk and a delegation comprising of students and parents walked through the Lion's Road and visited Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Mausoleum.
 
After Minister Selçuk placed a wreath on the mausoleum, the group observed a minute's silence and then recited the national anthem.
 
Minister Selçuk wrote the following words in the Mausoleum Special Notebook: "Founder of our Republic, first President of the veteran Parliament, Head Teacher Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. I am representing 18 million students and a million teachers in order to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the foundation of our Parliament, national sovereignty and children's day. Your adamant move to direct the nation to fight by saying, "The future of the nation will be saved by the nation's will and determination" during a historical milestone when our nation faced the danger of losing its independence and national existence and to found the parliament is the most important events of our history." 
 
 "They will continue to commemorate you with respect not only on April 23 but everyday"
Reminding that Atatürk has placed the compassion to children to the foundation of humanity and April 23 is a gift to children from Atatürk, Selçuk stated that children viewed the future with hope due to these reasons.
 
Children have learned not to give up against difficulties from Atatürk and established a powerful for their homeland, said Selçuk and added: "You must know that children of this country will not fall behind from other children in the world in the field of education and they will continue to achieve success in science and technology and look to future with hope. They will continue to commemorate you with respect and walk on the path you showed in the light of universal principles and ideas not only on April 23 but every day." 
 
Covid-19 measures during the visit  
There were a limited number of officials in the delegation led by Selçuk due to Covid-19 measures.
 
The mausoleum was disinfected and guards changed before the visit.
 
Delegation wore masks and they followed social distancing rules during their walk to the mausoleum.
